A new Chronicler's Pass, themed on Set 1's American history: the Revolution, Franklin's lightning and the frontier. Washington leads the season.

October 3, 2026: Trading retired, fairer starter rewards

Player trading has been retired. The Trades tab is gone. Any offer that was still open has been closed, and no cards moved: every card stays with the player who owned it. Cards can't be traded or transferred between accounts.

Fairer starter rewards. To stop one person collecting new-player rewards over and over with extra accounts, there are now limits per device and per network on new accounts, creator codes (one per device, after your first finished match), friend codes and beginner rewards. A second account made on the same device opens its free packs after its first finished match. Playing normally, or with your family on the same home network, nothing changes.

Updated Terms and Privacy Policy, covering both changes, plus our mailing address.

How it works: pay an entry of 2,500 gold or 250 gems, choose a Leader from three of the six historical Leaders, then make 30 picks, choosing 1 card from 3 each time. Picks come from Set 1 cards in your Leader's colours. Your deck is topped up to 40 with basic Commons, and you play against the AI until you reach 3 wins or 2 losses.

Rewards: 1 win pays 200 gold. 2 wins pay 600 gold and an Uncommon wildcard. 3 wins pay a pack and a Rare wildcard.

Good to know: drafted cards are for that run only and are not added to your collection. Only the end rewards are.

October 1, 2026: The Set 1 update

The biggest update so far. Rules, cards, Leaders and the economy all changed.

Rules

3 copies per deck. A deck can now hold up to 3 copies of any card (was 2).

Replace when full. Your field still holds 5 characters, but you can now play a character onto a full field. You choose one of your own characters to trash to make room.

Lightning is now a keyword. Cards that deal damage when played now say "Lightning X" so you can read them at a glance. You will see it on cards like Kite and Key, Zap, Buffalo Bill, Edgar Allan Poe, Molly Pitcher and George Westinghouse.

Cards

Named partners. Many cards now get better alongside a famous partner. A few examples: John Henry and The Steam Engine, P.T. Barnum and The Circus, Malcolm X and Dr. King, Sally Ann Thunder and Davy Crockett, Thomas Jefferson or Abigail Adams with John Adams, The Queen Anne's Revenge with Blackbeard, and The Constitution with James Madison.

Charge-first cards. Some Emerald and Garnet cards now reward you for charging before you play them, including Daniel Boone, Corps of Discovery, Bartholomew Roberts, Charles Lee and Spoils of War.

Item synergies in Gold. Thomas Edison, Finished Product and The Steam Engine now trigger when you play other Items.

Variety pass. Many cards got new or sharper abilities so each colour has more than one way to win.

Rarity changes. A handful of cards moved down a rarity to better match how complex they are.

Leaders

We tested every Leader in thousands of AI games and tuned the ones that won too often or too rarely.

Amelia Earhart: her Adventurers and Pilots still have Explore, but no longer get +1/+0, and her Recover trigger is gone. She was winning far too often.

Neil Armstrong: lost his Items and Locations discount.

Devin: your Items now cost 1 less.

Collin: power 4 to 5.

Bekah: her Command, Write It Down, now costs 2 (was 3).

Brody: his Command, Scale for Sale, now costs 3 (was 4).

Andy: power 5 to 6, and his Flash ability now costs 2 crystals (was 3).

Phillip: his Command, Objection!, now costs 4 (was 3).

Josh: his Command, The Mending Room, now costs 4 (was 3) and no longer Recovers Life. His power stays at 5. This change mostly tames him in Free-for-All.

Economy and rewards

New pack prices. Packs now cost 4,400 gold or 440 gems. You can still open free packs from rewards.

Wildcards. Pull a 4th copy of a card and it becomes a wildcard of that rarity. Spend wildcards to craft any card of the same rarity, so nothing you pull goes to waste.

Gems to gold. You can trade gems for gold in the Store (100 gems = 1,000 gold). There is no gold to gems trade.

A bigger season pass. The Chronicler's Pass was redesigned with more gold and wildcards on both the free and premium rows.

Starter deck guarantee. Every account always owns a full, legal deck, so you can jump into a match any time.

September 30, 2026: A better first day

A big update for new players, plus some features everyone asked for.

The First Chapter. New players now start with four guided battles that teach the game one idea at a time, with rewards along the way.

Choose your first deck. After the First Chapter, pick one of five ready-made decks, one for each colour. You keep it forever.

A calmer hub. Features unlock as you play instead of all at once, with short pointers the first time you visit each one.

AI difficulty. Choose Easy, Normal or Hard when you play the AI. Easy is the default.

Accounts with email. Sign up with an email, a username and a password, and use recovery codes if you ever get locked out. Existing accounts can add an email.

Friends. Add friends, see who is online and invite them to a match in one tap.

Install it like an app. Lost Chapters can now be installed from your browser on desktop and phone.

The Chronicler's Pass. The season track grew into a 50-level pass with a free row for everyone and an optional premium row. Everything on it is cosmetic, currency or packs; no card is exclusive to the pass, and its packs hold the same cards anyone can open.

Clearer battles. Combat is easier to read, with better pacing and motion.

Card text clean-up. We checked every card's text against what it actually does and fixed the ones that did not match.

September 29, 2026: Fairer starts

Duels: the player who goes second now gets a bonus crystal on each of their first three turns (was two), so going first is no longer a big advantage.

Free-for-All: the Shard no longer starts with the last seat. Nobody holds it in the first two rounds; at the start of round 3 it goes to the player with the most Life. This made every seat much fairer.

Free-for-All with 3 players: the players in seats 2 and 3 now start with 1 extra Life.
