What Lost Chapters is

Lost Chapters is a free history card game. Everything that affects winning can be earned by playing. Gems (the premium currency) can be bought with real money and only buy looks, the season pass and card packs that anyone can also earn free.

Spending limits by age

• Under 13: no real-money purchases at all, unless you turn them on in parental controls. Then your monthly limit applies.
• 13 to 17: a limit of $25 a month by default. You can lower it, raise it (up to $100) or set it to $0.
• 18 and over: no limit, but players can set their own monthly limit in Settings.

Months follow the calendar in US Eastern time. Refunds and chargebacks are taken off the month's total. Gold and Gems spent inside the game are not limited; only real money is.

Break reminders

Players under 18 see a gentle reminder after an hour of play ("time for a break?"). It can be dismissed, and players can turn it off in Settings unless you set a reminder time in parental controls.

Parental controls

You don't need an account. Your child opens Settings > Parental controls (or the account sheet) and enters your email address. For players under 13, we already have the email you gave when you approved their account. We email you a private link that works for 7 days; your child can ask for a fresh one at any time. On that page you can:

• set a monthly spending limit from $0 to $100 (or allow none),
• require your approval for every purchase: your child sends a request, you get an email with Approve and Deny links, and an approval unlocks that one purchase for 24 hours (nothing is bought automatically),
• block friend requests from other players (your child can still add friends they know by username),
• stop strangers from watching their matches (only friends can spectate),
• set a play-time reminder,
• see what was spent this month.

Your child sees "Parental controls are on" in their Settings. Once controls are on, only the email address you used can change them.

Privacy

We keep your email address only to send you these links and purchase requests. Links are stored as one-way hashes, so nobody can read them from our database. You can ask us to delete your child's account and everything linked to it at any time.
