About Lost Chapters

Lost Chapters is a free digital collectible card game of real history, made by Roberts Bros Games (DevBerri Inc., Florida) and created by Devin Roberts. It plays in any web browser on phone, tablet or computer at lostchapters.org.

Why history?

History is full of characters who would make great cards: inventors racing each other to the patent office, pilots crossing oceans alone, founders arguing over every word of a constitution. Lost Chapters puts them on the table and lets players build decks around how they really worked together. Set 1, Liberty & Lightning, covers American history, and each new set travels somewhere new, starting with the Norse set Runes & Ravens on November 3, 2026.

Real history, invented frame

The game wraps its real people in an invented story: a crystal called the Shard cracks history, heroes fall into a world called Marginalia, and shard-born Echoes twist the past. We keep the two clearly apart. The frame story is fiction. The people, places and events on the cards are real, and we work to describe them accurately and respectfully. The Echoes are invented. The history is real.

How we check facts

• History notes on this site name their sources, and we prefer primary and institutional ones: the National Park Service, NASA, the Smithsonian, the Library of Congress, the National Archives, state archives and university research centers.
• Each sourced block shows the date it was last checked against those sources.
• We never put invented quotes in a real person's mouth, and we paraphrase rather than quote copyrighted speeches.
• Card names, rules and abilities are game design. A card being strong or weak says nothing about the real person's worth.
• Lost Chapters is not endorsed by any historical figure, estate, family, museum or agency we cite.
