The real history
Paul Revere was born in Boston's North End, the son of a French Huguenot goldsmith. He became a skilled silversmith who made teapots, sugar bowls and buckles, and he also engraved political cartoons. As a Son of Liberty, he carried news for Boston's patriot leaders, starting with word of the Boston Tea Party in December 1773.
On the night of April 18, 1775, Dr. Joseph Warren sent Revere and William Dawes to Lexington. British troops were on the move, and patriot leaders feared they meant to arrest John Hancock and Samuel Adams or seize military supplies at Concord. Two lanterns were briefly shown in the steeple of the Old North Church, a signal Revere had arranged to tell patriots in Charlestown that the troops were crossing by water. Friends rowed Revere across the Charles River, and he rode on to Lexington. Dawes took a longer route by land.
From Lexington, Revere and Dawes headed for Concord, joined by Dr. Samuel Prescott. On the outskirts of Lincoln a British patrol stopped them. Dawes and Prescott escaped, and Prescott brought the warning to Concord. Revere was held, questioned and released without his horse.
Revere almost certainly did not shout "The British are coming." Most colonists still thought of themselves as British, and he reportedly warned that the regulars were coming out. He was one rider in a larger alarm network, but Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's poem, written in 1860, made him the lone hero of the night. Revere later ran a foundry and a copper mill and died in Boston in 1818.

In the game's story
In the game's invented story, Paul Revere scoops a glowing shard off the road outside Boston on the night of April 18, 1775, without slowing down, and gallops into Marginalia on the Longroad. The Longroad Lancers adopt him on sight, and he builds a lantern-signal system that can carry a warning of a new rift the length of the realm in one night. He opens a silversmith's shop in Dogear Crossing and always makes sure to mention William Dawes.
How the card plays
Paul Revere costs 7 crystals and is a 5/5 Quartz Founder with Swift and Explore. Swift lets him charge the turn he arrives, and Explore means only characters with Explore can block him. When he enters play, your other characters also get Swift for the turn.
That last line makes him a finisher. On a big turn, play your cheap characters first, then Revere, so everything that just arrived can charge alongside him. At 10 crystals, Molly Pitcher, Cannoneer and Thomas Paine fit next to him: Molly deals 1 damage to an enemy when she lands, and Paine draws a card and gives the team +1/+0. Then Revere makes them both Swift. Yorktown gives all your characters +2/+0, which turns a surprise all-out charge into a lot of damage.

Questions about Paul Revere
Did Paul Revere really say "The British are coming"?
Almost certainly not. Colonists still considered themselves British, so the phrase would have confused people. He reportedly warned that the regulars, meaning British army troops, were coming out.
Did Paul Revere make it to Concord?
No. A British patrol captured him on the outskirts of Lincoln. Samuel Prescott escaped the same patrol and carried the warning on to Concord.
