Liberty & Lightning: Set 1 Card List

Liberty & Lightning is the first set of Lost Chapters and the one every player starts with. It covers American history from the colonial era to the Moon landing across five colors, each with its own theme and style of play:

• Gold, Inventors and Industry: tokens, Items and the engineers who powered a new country. Leader: Nikola Tesla.
• Cobalt, Thinkers and Dreamers: writers, reformers and card draw. Leaders: Martin Luther King Jr. and Neil Armstrong.
• Emerald, Frontier and Explorers: evasive Explore attackers and the people who mapped the continent. Leader: Amelia Earhart.
• Garnet, Rebels, Pirates and War: aggression, removal and discard. Leader: Blackbeard.
• Quartz, Founders and Revolution: sturdy Founders, Triumphs and the founding documents. Leader: George Washington.

The set introduced the core keywords of the game, including Explore, Swift, Guard, Protest, Double Chapter, Tenacious and Resolve, and the Build action that creates Tinker, Lightbulb and Steel Golem Tokens. Decks hold up to 3 copies of any card.

A handful of cards come from American folklore rather than the historical record, such as Paul Bunyan and Sally Ann Thunder. They make a good starting point for a conversation about the difference between legend and history.

Every card in the set is listed below, grouped by color. Select a card to see its rules, rarity and art.
