The real history
Marilyn Monroe was born Norma Jeane Mortenson on June 1, 1926, in Los Angeles. She spent much of her childhood in foster homes and, for a time, in the Los Angeles Orphans' Home. During World War II she worked at a munitions plant, and around 1944 she began modeling. In August 1946 she signed her first contract with Twentieth Century-Fox and took the stage name Marilyn Monroe.
After small roles in films like The Asphalt Jungle and All About Eve in 1950, she became a star. Her films included Niagara and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes in 1953, and The Seven Year Itch in 1955. In 1954 she traveled to Korea to perform for American troops.
Monroe wanted more say in her work. In 1955 she moved to New York to study at the Actors Studio and, with the photographer Milton Greene, founded Marilyn Monroe Productions. After a long dispute with Fox, she won a new contract that let her choose her own projects, directors and cinematographers. Library of Congress records show her signing in at the Actors Studio on November 19, 1955.
Bus Stop in 1956 was a turning point for her as an actress, and the company's projects included The Prince and the Showgirl in 1957. She starred in Some Like It Hot in 1959, and The Misfits, released in 1961, was her last completed film. Her personal library held more than 450 books, including works by Dostoevsky, Tolstoy and Freud.

In the game's story
In the game's invented story, Marilyn Monroe arrives in the middle of a bell-festival in Bindwell, and the whole street stops. She smiles, waves and politely asks where the library is. She spends long quiet hours in the Archive's reading rooms and becomes friends with Emily Dickinson, and she sings on Saturdays at Barnum's tent.
How the card plays
Marilyn Monroe, Infamous costs 8 crystals and is a 4/6 Garnet Celebrity. She is a Legendary, so she counts as a Legacy character. She has Protest, which means your rival cannot choose her as the target of a charge. When she enters play, rest all enemy characters.
She is expensive, so treat her as a finishing turn. Resting the entire enemy field leaves you free to push damage, so bring other attackers or cheap Swift characters to play alongside her. The Flag The Flag gives your characters +1/+1, Betsy Ross, American Dream Betsy Ross, American Dream gives your other characters +1/+0, and Teddy Roosevelt, Rough Rider Teddy Roosevelt, Rough Rider has Swift, so he can hit the turn he arrives. Keep her alive afterward: Protest makes her hard to pick off with a charge.
